| These days we all seem to wear some kind of scents
(or fragrances) as part of our perfume or cologne; not only to impress others but
also to please ourselves. However, pleasing ourselves is fine as long as we are in a private place. In a public place, a fragrance can tell more about you and draw attention to you more than your clothes or body will do. Why? People
may not look at you or notice your clothes for whatever reasons but it is hard to close one's nose.

Personalize it
Pick your fragrance not by what is being heavily advertised but what represents your personality. Unless you are a
model or a movie star, most people around you will have a faint understanding of what is hot in the perfumes market.
Visualize your audience
A perfume that may make other women jealous at a party could actually be offensive to colleagues at work. In other words, context is key. Try to imagine who will be around you. If you
are planning to use public transport, as is common in many
countries, be careful about the fragrance since the people around you are now part of your audience.
If you are driving yourself, then you are in much better shape and
can be more adventurous with your perfume choice.
 Making an impression
Fragrance can have a significant impact on what kind of impression people will have about you. You may not be perceived as serious enough by some but others might think of you as a pleasant person and pay more attention to you. In a study, the content of remarks made by women who were not wearing scent was remembered better. The presence of perfume seemed to trip off a sensory reaction that distracted the listeners' intellects.
Advice
Wear fragrance more like
your underwear than an overcoat. To create the highest impact, pick your fragrance as you would your underwear. Something pleasant and comfortable for ordinary days but powerful fragrance for a
steamy evening.
