Rosehip drink recipe
Excellent substitute for carbonated beverages and can be made calorie free

Most diet experts now recommend that you avoid drink regular sodas because of the calories.  Many people, however, do not like diet drinks because of the taste.  An option is to switch to all-natural flower drinks, particularly the one that we recommend: a rosehip flower drink.  You can buy tea or the pure petals of the Rosa Jamaica in Spanish shops and some health food stores around the country. Rose hips are rich in many nutrients, but particularly in vitamin C.  (Other drinks recipes:  Mango bellini recipe, Mojito recipe, and  energy drink with healthy ingredients)

Ingredients

2 cups of Rosa de Jamaica flowers
Sugar or sweetener (to your taste)
About 48 ounces of water

Process

Put some flowers (depending how strong you want it) to boil in about 2 cups of water. As a general rule anything from 1 cup to 2 cups of flowers makes about 6 glasses of drink. Add 3 cloves, a pinch of nutmeg and a cinnamon stick to the water and let it boil for about 15 minutes in low flame. Let it cool dawn

Drain the flowers to obtain the juice and mix with additional water and sugar or sweetener. Add ice and put it in the refrigerator to chill it for serving.  You can also drink it hot.
