(Related: How to lose weight during middle age) | | | | While I am not fat by any means (I weigh 135 lbs at 5 ft and 7 inches, and a very acceptable BMI towards the low range), I still want to lose just that tiny amount of fat on my waist (you know I prefer Speedo swimsuits and summer is on its way). So I have switched to a low carb diet and am exercising regularly. But what is interesting is that in the beginning I was just happy with 10-15 minutes of running because I would get so tired during that time. Then I read somewhere that fat doesn't burn for first 20 minutes. So I started to go up to 25 minutes and that is when I realized that I could go longer. And then each week I started to increase it by 5 minutes and now I am at 45 minutes each morning on the treadmill. Isn't that great? While I used to get tired in 10 minutes, now I can go to 45. I burn over 100 fat calories and by making some dietary changes I have eliminated as much as 700 calories. In other words, if all goes well, I can lose a pound of weight a week (yes, it takes at least 3,500 calories to be eliminated for losing one pound). | |

And remember that the only way to lose weight is through exercise, portion reduction, and change in diet. Forget about those magic weight loss pills. (Related: How did Drew Barrymore lose weight) Yeah; I'm one of those not-fat-by-any-means-but-trying-to-lose-pudge people, and all it takes is all your dedication and then some. What most people don't realize is that you can't just give up after the first time or the second time (How to achieve your weight loss goals); you just have to keep going, because for a lot of people, the fat doesn't just drop off. (Related: Diet makeover) | | | I have a friend who discourages me simply by being gorgeous already, and dropping fat like it's nothing whenever she wants to, while I've spent three months just trying to whittle an inch and a half off my thighs! I get bored with my workouts and constantly have to buy new cardio videos and yoga videos, which is costly! But I know what I have to do, and I'm determined to do it, because even if it isn't soon, I know at least someday I'll reach my goal, if I just keep at it. And yeah; forget those magic weight loss pills. They're total waste of money. I have lost 17 pounds in 9 weeks, just by eating more healthy food and cutting out snacks. It's really not that hard. Here is what I do: - Drink plenty of water to detox your system.
- Cut out sugars.
- Drink green tea.
- Eat a full breakfast. Oatmeal is great.
- Eat dinner before 6 PM and do not snack after that. Just drink water.
