Who will be dancing with the stars?

It is pretty obvious from the popularity of dance based reality television that dancing is popular - even if all we do are watch it. Some argue that if Americans will simply dance a bit more, the obesity crisis in the country would go away. So who is going to entertain us by making fool of themselves on national television?

Ladies

Vivica Fox - An African-American beauty, with several soap operas and movies like "Kill Bill" and "Independence Day" to her credit, she has a strong chance. Her partner will be Nick Kosovich, who previously danced with Tatum O'Neal. Did she lose because of him? Probably not; she just didn't put her heart and soul into dancing.

Monique Coleman - Her accomplishments include "High School Musical." While she is in her 20s, she looks young enough to play a high-school character. She will be dancing with Louis Van Amstel, who completely transformed Lisa Rinna (though not Trista Sutter) and made her a hot contender for the title.

Shanna Moakler - Like Kelly Monaco, she is a Playmate and a former Miss USA (and now mother of three). She has also acted in "Pacific Blue," "The Wedding Singer," and "Love Stinks." Travis Barker and her are getting a divorce after starring in an MTV reality program "Meet the Barkers." Her dancing partner is Jesse DeSoto, who will be on the show for the first time - wonder how it will impact her chances. One thing is for sure - if she can bring some of her Playmate persona to the dances, she might benefit from votes from viewers, as Kelly Monaco and Stacy Keibler did.

Sara Evans - A mother of three children, she is a sensation in the world of country music, like Darryl Worley. She has been repeatedly voted as a beautiful woman and will be dancing with Tony Dovolani, who almost got Stacy Keibler the trophy.

Willa Ford - Someone who likes to call herself the "Bad Girl of Pop," she deserves the title considering that she played in the Lingerie Bowl, starred in Love Jones Lingerie Fashion Show, and has been featured in Playboy - Watch out Shanna Moakler! Her dancing partner is Maxsim Chmerkovskiy who helped Tia Carrere improve her dancing skills big time.

Gentlemen

Harry Hamlin - After Lisa Rinna performed so well, it is nice to see her husband on the show, though you wonder if ABC couldn't find other men. Ashly Delgrosso, who did her very best to help Master P (but failed) and Joey McIntyre (and succeeded) is his partner.

Joe "Joey" Lawrence - Not much buzz for him for a while but expectations are that with a partner like Edyta Sliwinska, he may do wonders. After all, she did help both George Hamilton and Evander Holyfield.

Tucker Carlson - What is a conservative (who still wears a bow tie) like him doing on an artistic show like this? Considering that Republicans don't like having fun, it will be interesting to watch if Elena Grinenko can help him become more human.

Mario Lopez - Will his Mexican roots help him? Karina Smirnoff should have an easier time to teaching him how to dance.

Emmet Smith - Jerry Rice did surprise everyone and so could he. Plus, Cheryl Burke, who made Drew Lachey the champion, will definitely be an asset.
