Americans are notorious for having non-existent foreign language skills and we often make fun of ourselves for not even being able to speak English; so when one of us can speak Urdu, we know that person has talent. Urdu is a language spoken in parts of the Indian subcontinent and is not an easy language to learn. However, Heather Schmid has done it.

Hey, but that is not what she does for a living. She is actually an artist and recipient of the Womenâ€(tm)s World Award. And who else got the award? Whoopi Goldberg, Susan Sarandon, Supermodel Claudia Schiffer and HM Queen Noor of Jordan. At the event she got a chance to practice her language skills with former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

And as you can see above, Heather wore a red floor length mermaid gown designed by Pamella Rowland. H. Stern selected several special pieces of jewelry for the occasion. Stylists Mario and Maurizio of The John Barrett Salon at the Bergdorf Goodman penthouse created her look.
