Blanche Spalding, host of BURN TV started her entertainment career as a fitness and glamour model in Arizona. As soon as she hit the scene, offers came from every direction to book her. Being the intelligent and business-minded person she is, Blanche only took on projects, that were done with class. "I never took a picture or did a project that I would be ashamed of," she says. I wish Antonella Barba had consulted her.
She's appeared in many print and online publication like American Curve, Razor magazine, IVth Element E-Zine and Savvy Online. However, at some point in her career she began to get tired of the same old pinup/promotional model routine. By the end of 2006, Blanche made the decision to reshape her management team and career goals, by going after the things she loved to do: acting, modeling, music, fashion and charity.
Her manager, Reali Robinson IV (Hip Hop Artist) says "Blanche Spalding is one of the most honest and caring people I know. She works hard and really cares about what she does. The money is nice, but that is not what she looks for when choosing a project. Professionalism, quality, and art are the most important attributes for her. At this pace Blanche Spalding will be a name to remember, not just as a beautiful face and body but a wonderful person who's destined to leave her mark in this world." I recently chatted with her.
How do you manage to look so good?
Well first off, thanks for the compliment. I typically workout at the gym four or five times a week. I enjoy running, so my daily routine usually consists of two miles on the treadmill. I have a personal trainer that trains me in kickboxing. Kickboxing is great. It works every muscle in your body. Closer to shoots my training gets tougher, so more squats and sit-ups are guaranteed to be added to the schedule. Yes, beauty is hard work. But just between me and you, I want to weasel my way out of sit-ups, but it never works. Hey, I almost forget great genes and a pair of great jeans.
What does you daily diet look like?
Chicken, chicken, and more chicken. I eat a lot of baked and grilled chicken. Breakfast can be anything from a power bar to eggs and toast. I like lunch; so it's my biggest meal of the day. I love salads and sandwiches. But like I said before, chicken is always for dinner. I try to avoid red meat and fast food; that's why I love to cook at home. "You Want me to make you something?" My daily diet consist of eating smart: fruits, salads, fish, and chicken. When I eat better, I feel better. Wow, I sound like my personal trainer. Nevertheless that doesn't mean I won't have a beer here and there.
What is your advice to women who want to look like you?
Make the best attempt to look like yourself. Now something that I do is to look at what other people are doing; however, I make the effort to change it up so that it works for me. It's better to be improved "you," instead of being exactly like someone else. There are different body types, shapes, and different colors in this world; you just have to find what works best for yourself. TV and Magazine are nice but they're just fashion blueprints. Use them but go the extra step so you can turn it into your personal, wonderful style.
If there is one piece of style tip you have, what is it?
My style is different everyday; it just depends on how I feel that day. Sometimes you feel like a tomboy, and sometimes you feel like a princess. Just go with what you feel that day. Sometimes a hat is better than high heels, but I would still suggest high heels...even with your hat.

What is the most fun part of your job?
The fun part is that I never really know what my day is going to be like; that's what's exciting. I may be on a set one day filming, modeling for a shoot another, and interviewing interesting people the next. What's been really cool is that I found out that I'm funny (Not like Chris rock or Dane Cook). I don't always think I'm funny, but people always tell me I am. "Maybe I'll do a standup routine one day." Just kidding! I find out new things about myself everyday, and as long as I continue to do that, I will have more.
Which is your most favorite vacation spot and why?
Well since I'm always working on new projects, I guess I would say that it's whereever I am working at. However I do love Vegas! The great thing about hosting BURN TV and modeling is that there are so many exotic locations we shoot at that it doesn?t feel like work even if I am putting in a 10 hour day. But to be honest, I need to take more vacations just for me.
What are some exciting projects that you have in the pipeline?
Right now, I'm very excited to be hosting Burn TV www.keepitburning.net We cover everything from cars, electronics, music, hot girls to cooking and just about anything else you can think of. Speaking of hot girls, there's a section called the "Burn Flame." I am the original Flame and we just picked our newest Flame BijouX Le Blanc. She's beautiful, intelligent and classy, just what a Burn Flame needs to be. I'm also working on my 2008 calendar. I'm working with a great photographer Mondo Kiyama, who has some really great ideas. You can pre-order my calendar on my website: www.blanchespalding.com I'm also co-producing a compilation with Soulbound Records CD called "Mixed Greens." It has 12 amazing up-and-coming artist from Arizona and California.
What is one secret that you have never told anyone? Maybe you can confess it now to our readers.
I'm secretly a musician. I make up silly songs for my dog, Daisy Mae, and sing them to her. She happens to really enjoy them, and some of them are quite good. If you want to hear one you'll have to wait for my album to come, its called "Sing to the dog." Just Kidding. (Laughs)
