One day I was engrossed in reading a book on a bench in the sun when she came up to me and after apologizing a lot for bothering me she asked if I would please accept a piece of paper with her name and number on it and in return give her mine. I was very surprised to say the least. American girls would never approach me in that way; they especially would not apologize for wanting to give me their number.  On the other hand, I am usually the one who has to beg for their number. I immediately took the piece of paper that she gave me and tore a sheet of paper from my notebook and wrote down mine.  She ran away as quickly as she came.  After the reality set in that the girl I have been dreaming about for months had just made a move toward me, I became very excited and called her as soon as I got home. I learned that she was an exchange student and was not allowed to have a boyfriend but was very interested in me and did not care about the rule since it was the end of the year.  I agreed to her suggestion that we go out and we did stuff that most couples in our age bracket were doing – go to the mall, play videogames, and watch movies. 

After dating for a while I took Haruka to a dance club for her 18^th birthday. We connected so well and loved being with one another. At first I didn’t want to get serious because I knew she would leave me and return to Japan soon. But she was so amazing that I had to try to be with her so I asked her if she wanted to get serious and try for a long-term (and soon to be long distance) relationship. She was overjoyed at the offer and our relationship entered a new phase.

We were together a few months and during that time we had a great romantic relationship. Haruka has been the most amazing lover I have ever had and could not imagine intimacy with anyone else being better. What I also find unique about her is that she is very committed to trying to make me happy.  As we have fallen into love I really enjoy pleasing her as much as she seems to enjoy pleasing me.

She is also self-conscious and thinks that I’m crazy for finding her so attractive.  Ironically enough, Haruka is also very shy, even though she is amazing at it. I would love to know how to make her less shy but it has been difficult. She has gone back to Japan now but we talk everyday and I am leaving in a few days to visit her in Japan for 2 weeks.  We decided to try to stay together and she is very devoted to me. I love her more than anything and want to make her happy. She is not used to guys treating her the way I treat her. She says that her ex-boyfriends in Japan would never say ‘I love you’ and be so gentle in bed.  I think I have found my soul mate.
