• This is a gray area still insofar as individual consumers are concerned.  As an American you have a right to consume whatever you want but bringing drugs into the United States is not allowed by law though many state/local governments are already doing it.  However, it is not only impossible to enforce this law; it will also be a public relations disaster for the Government to go after people who are trying to save their hard-earned money to make some drug company shareholders (who are already wealthy) even wealthier.  That is why, in October 2006, the US Customs that was seizing some packages in the past, has now stopped doing so - in other words, Americans can now safely import drugs.

• Do your research.  Visit as many websites as you can that currently offer this service.  
• If you do not feel comfortable ordering online, make sure that they have a phone number that is answered by a human being (who speaks politely and treats you like a valued customer).  Only then should you do business with them.
• Use a credit card to place your order.  If you do not have one, at least the first time, ask a friend or family member to place your order.  When you buy with a credit card and you are not satisfied, you can always approach your credit card company to resolve the matter.
• Place a small order the first time.  See if they fulfill your prescription the way you like.  Only then should you place the next order.  Otherwise look for another pharmacy.

Are there any risks associated with importing drugs from a Canadian pharmacy?

• Most people do not think that Canada is any different than the United States.  I have been to Canada many times and it is just like traveling to another US state.  In fact, I found the service to be slightly better and the people to be less stressed out.
• Canadian pharmacies ship the same drugs that Canadians use every day.
• Can counterfeit drugs be shipped to American customers?  Yes, but not if you take the precautions we have mentioned above.  US has enough crooks and consumers like us get cheated every single day by all kinds of businesses.  Of course, some dishonest companies will try to cheat, but if you are careful, then you have nothing to worry.
• Can terrorists use Canadian drugs to harm us?  Probably!  But terrorists are far more creative than any one of us.  So we cannot put our lives on hold just because we are afraid of terrorists.  Life is full of risks and we just have to learn to manage them.
