Merck cannot be sued in USA by English Vioxx victims

The direction of Vioxx litigation for British victims has seen a series of setbacks. According to a major flaw in their legal system, they are unable to sue Merck in the United Kingdom.

In yet another setback to them, a court in New Jersney has now ruled that they cannot sue the company in American courts.

Merck is currently facing as many as 40,000 claims in the US courts but only a handful of cases have gone to trial. So far the company has won as many cases as it has lost.
