Ang has been modeling for MYNIPPON for a while. We
recently sat down with her to give her an opportunity to
answer questions from her fans in which she talks about all
the challenges of being a model and how she balances her
life as a model with that of a student. (Related

MYNIPPON:
Rachael, we wanted to thank you for taking the time
to speak to us. While
our members have already seen you on our website they would
really like to know more about you.
Rachael:
Well I live in Malaysia in the capital Kuala Lumpur.
Maybe Malaysia is not that popular a country that
everyone will know, but this is a very cute country...a lot
of fun...a lot of my sweet memories are here. As you can see I’m a tall and slim girl..........I admit
that I am a girl that likes beauty; maybe a bit too much.
While I was 15 years old, I learned makeup and
already started to attend some functions and parties.
The secret was that I thought I would have a chance
to wear a very nice dress.
My parent love me so much, so they are willing to pay
for whatever dress that I liked. I m glad I have parents like them. Maybe that is because I’m the youngest daughter in my
family; so I always get what I wish to have. (Related:

Well we are really happy to hear about your family
but tell us how did you start with modeling?
Rachael:
My modeling life began when I was very young.
I was asked to do a TV commercial for an instant
noodle advertisement. That time I was just 7 years old. When I became a teenager, I started to have a lot of
admirers and at the same time, I got a lot of love
letters.
This was very good for me since I started to build a little
bit of confidence that I was indeed pretty. Guys liked to stay around me.
One day I walked in the street, and one guy came
forward me and asked me to join his modeling business (How
to become a model). This
surprised me. I never thought this before.
Of course I had shot a lot of studio photo before but
just for fun. I
didn't know what was actually a model's job.
I told this to my family. They just keep smiling and
said, “Why don't you go and give it a try?" I never
thought they would answer me this way but I was happy that
they let me try. This photographer asked me to shoot a lot of studio
photos.
He practically taught me
how to pose
for photos.
That was really funny but also tiring.
I am really a "wood".
I can't pose well myself without teaching and this
guy really helped me out.
After that I joined a few other modeling
agencies,
but I don’t have a contract with either one them because I
still wish to have some freedom.
Of course I’m still studying. So this agency work
simply brings me some jobs, like modeling for TV commercials or print
advertisement.
MYNIPPON:
We are sure a lot of girls would like to know your
beauty secrets. Will
you share these with our female visitors?
Rachael:
In my school too, a lot of girls like to ask my
secrets of beauty. I think that is a question many
models get asked all the time. I am generally willing to share my story with them
anytime. They
always asked me how I can eat a lot and still stay
slim? How
to wear makeup or where do I usually buy my dress? In fact,
I wish I would be a bit chubby, sometimes I think I have no
flesh on my bones.
|
So
how do I keep slim? The answer is don't try to eat to be
full. Just eat slowly until you are not hungry
anymore. What about makeup? If you read more magazines and
use the tricks, I think your makeup skills will improve.
My secret is use color because color can make a huge
difference in your makeup.
Lately I cut my long and straight hair to a layered
short hair, and colored it. My friend said it looked more
modern and made me look more independent.
I also tried to switch to sexier
dresses, but I think
I still prefer sporty looks.
I think I look better when I am more comfortable.
Natural
beauty is always the best in a model.
Many guys tell me that they prefer ladies that look
natural. Never try heavy makeup during daytime; this will
give you a very "fake" look.
MYNIPPON:
What movie star or singer do you like?
Rachael: My
favorite is Coco Lee and Ayumi. I like Coco because her body is
simply perfect. She
is like a dream girl. She is smart and pretty, I like her
voice and song so much, especially the one with the title
“Before I fall in love".
While she has Asian blood, she looks so western and
modern. She is
my perfect role mode. By the way I like Ayu because of her
Barbie-like face. She
is cute and attractive. I love her voice too – quite high
pitched though. I also love Japanese makeup
style.
MYNIPPON:
What is your dream?
Rachael: I
always dream to become a famous model but I think that is
not so easy. Maybe through mynippon.net this dream will come
true? I’m a
simple person. I’m not greedy.
I just wish to find a guy that loves me; then we get
married, hopefully be happy forever, like a
princess and
prince story that we read as children. I would also like to go to many countries and enjoy the
different cultures and lifestyles. I always read a lot of
travel books.
