Other more controversial implications of the changes
in dietary needs are whether greater intake of sugar is
producing more aggressive behavior and hyperactivity amongst
Japanese youngsters, a subject under some controversial
study in Western countries. Could sugar be responsible for
the increasingly difficult classroom situations in the
formerly orderly Japanese school system? It is difficult to
know.
There is also national pride involved as Japanese
sportswomen have made incredible advances in sports and
other strength activities. Japanese women marathoners, judo
players, beach volleyball players, swimmers are now amongst
the world’s best.

There are also famous female table
tennis players who show remarkable strength and agility,
competing with other adult table tennis players before they
even reaches teenage years. This shows the
remarkable
strength emerging in the Japanese female physique.
Sportswomen are also known to be taking drinks like
the famous bug juice of fireflies taken by a Japanese
marathoner to improve her performance. Japanese women are
also training hi-tech to focus on specific muscles for
different sports to enhance their performance. Many are
training overseas absorbing valuable knowledge to contribute
back to their motherland like famous female swimmers
training in Canada.
Japanese growth has also drawn some attention in
other countries, including the US and China. Conservative
right-leaning groups in the US now fear that future
generations of children will grow up to be smaller than
Japanese because of current Western fears of cholesterol in
milk sweeping Europe and the US. Some in the US also marvel
at how the Japanese managed to grow taller and bigger
without putting on excessive weight or fats like the
Americans who are now complaining about their high-fat diet
as well as body parts like the bottoms which are excessively
huge.
Americans also admire the low heart attacks incidence
(although it is slowly increasing) amongst Japanese and
study their diets intensely. Japanese women are now the
longest-lived in the world and their diet is closely studied
by Western government and private sectors . Even more
controversial, some Western studies show that genetics could
be involved as some Americans begin to feel that other than
diet, genetics evolution over a long time could have
accounted for Japanese longevity.
