New England Winter Wonderland

A playground for snow lovers

I don't know if you can appreciate the feeling when you get up in the morning and everywhere you see, there is snow.  Well, for those of us who live in New England, it means that you get up, put on a ton of warm clothes, get your snow blower out, and start cleaning the driveways and other access paths, but I continue to be amazed by the beauty of the snow each time I see it.  Plus, if your spouse is in the mood, there is nothing more fun than throwing some snow balls at each other.  If you have kids, ask them to join as well, or they can make a snow man.

But what if you live in a warm place and have never visited New England during winter?  While it might look scary (yes, it is cold - even for those of us who live her permanently), but you will be amazed how soon you get used to it.  And you can also enjoy all the other fun things that you can do during winter, e.g. skiing, snowboarding, ice-fishing, etc.  So just get a cheap ticket to Boston and have fun.

See how the sun is trying to come through the trees and the snow particles are reflecting the light!

This is a scene after several inches of snow on the ground but I was fascinated by how the snow just sat there on this small tree in my backyard.

The sky was so blue that day but the reflection of light from the snow all around created an interesting view.  It was all so still.
