The National Mall &
Memorial Parks area in
Washington DC includes the Mall, the public
promenade extending from 3rd Street near the Capitol to 14th Street,
the Washington Monument (if you are not the president of the United
States, then you are not allowed to fly in this area and this
monument is a great way to see the landmarks in the area for free
from a height of 555 feet), World War II Memorial and Lincoln
Memorial. And of course, you can walk and take a peek at the White
House - the official residence of the president. In the same area,
are other buildings like the Capitol and the Supreme Court. Not too
far are all the wonderful (and free) museums that draw millions of
tourists from all over the world each year. |
