When I
was naive and clueless, I used to think that vintage was
only for "old" people. For me, it was always the
latest; whatever was shown at one of the
fashion shows in Hong Kong,
Milan, London, Paris,
Tokyo or
New
York. As I became more mature, I realized that
vintage
jewelry has its own charm.
Now remember that to find
what you like and can afford will be a long process of
looking, but the thrill of the hunt is worth it. "You
could find a gold and coral large Victorian brooch that
has a slight imperfection in it," says Shelley Osborne,
the owner of an online vintage jewelry store. "But does
it matter? It's priced for value and after all what is
an imperfection if not truly vintage? And don't we all
love to display our treasures in original boxes? You'll
find these too for
rings, bracelets, cuff links and even some necklace
boxes." |
