While I typically don’t agonize about being connected during a vacation (I mean a vacation is a way to get away from it all and limit the communication to only the absolute essential), it does not mean that technology does not have uses.  For instance, web access on a mobile device comes very handy for looking up directions or finding restaurants in a neighborhood.  Thus, free wifi access comes so handy.  In London, I found that not only does Cafe Nero have free wifi, they also make great beverages and desserts.  Strongly recommended.
