When you watch all those couples fighting on the Jerry Springer show about the real father of a child, most of us ignore the cases as isolated, just entertainment, and even fictitious. But it turns out that Springer has a large pool of people to choose from.

It has always been known that a woman chooses a male based on how capable he is of giving a healthy seed and then eventually raising a healthy child, but it appears that women do not always make the right choice all the time. So the interesting scenario that a child fathered by someone else is actually raised by another man.
Now that paternity tests based on DNA testing are affordable (around US$200) and easily available, it is easy to find out who is the real father or if the "father" really fathered the child. While such tests may be useful in some cases, most often, if everything else is going fine, we suggest that this question be better left unanswered.
