Evan Rachel Wood in Pretty Persuasion sparks controversy

Evan Rachel Wood, the star of "Thirteen" has just finished another movie "Pretty Persuasion." In this movie, her character Kimberly exploits her sex appeal to seduce whoever matters so that she can achieve her goal. We all know that people do leverage their charm to go ahead in life and you probably know of dozens of stories of people who even slept with someone else to get that job or a raise or a promotion.

Wood, who spoke to New York Daily News recently says that she is not against teenagers exploiting their sexuality. Unfortunately, she says, that the society and the media tend to cover it all up. We live in a society where everyone wants to teach abstinence only while we all know that even tweens are fooling around with each other in classrooms and schoolbuses. In fact, the more adults try to ignore it or make it appear as if it were something bad or "dirty," the more kids get curious about it and engage in it.

So next time you are thinking about seducing your boss to get that promotion, if you can get away with it, then just do it, though the way our HR policies are written, workplace romance is almost always a bad idea. Think what happened to Paula Abdul recently.
