Redheads more likely to get skin cancer

We have been talking in detail about how skin cancer continues to rise and a lot of it is simply because we are careless. For instance, we recently reported about younger women who were using tanning beds are more likely to have skin cancer. We also talked about how young people were even more susceptible to skin cancer.

Now comes another study that says that redheads are even more likely to get skin cancer due to their unique chemical constitution.

So what can redheads to take better care of their skin? Pretty much what everyone else needs to do but the redheads have to do more. Avoid sunburn, particularly when the sun is at its peak between 10 AM and 2 PM. Cover up if you have to be in the sun, wear sunglasses, and use a high quality sunscreen. You can also use self tanners to get the tanned look if that is what you want.
