Basic care
Try to clean your face twice a day morning and before going to bed. Select a
gentle face cleanser. You may want to use a toner, but this is optional. The toner is refreshing and calming. Avoid toners with alcohol that can dry the skin.
Apply a
moisturizer. If you are over 30, you may want to use a special night cream during the night.
During the day use sunblock 15 or more SPF with protection UVB and UVA.
Weekly care
Try to have a
weekly mask depending on the season or the place where you live. You may want to have a
hydrating mask or a
purifying mask. Or you may want to alternate them each week. You can buy these masks or use natural ingredients from your kitchen to prepare them.
Exfoliate
Try to use an
exfoliant once or twice a week. If you use products with AHA,
retinol or other exfoliant, try to use a gentle exfoliant. Never over-exfoliate.
Indulge and preserve
If you have time, try to have a weekly or
monthly facial in your home, or if you can afford it, try to have
professional facials whenever possible. The facials help to keep the skin clean, which helps to keep the pores to their minimum size.
Facials are also very relaxing. Some types of facials, such as the Russian facial, have a very structured massage component that promises to help you to keep your skin toned and firm for many years.
Gillian Taylforth, the British actress, attributes her youthful
looks to regular facials.
Taking care of your skin naturally
